Some recipes I stumbled upon contained ingredients like wormwood, hyssop, calamus root, mint, cloves, fennell seeds, star anise, nutmeg, ouzo and Everclear. Now, these herbs all seem to be acceptable herbs in making Absintheand the Everclear and Ouzo supply the homemade Absinthe its alcohol content BUT making Absinthe in your own home from herbs is not as simple as making homemade beer and is also very risky.
